Apple (AAPL) and Elon Musk's SpaceX are clashing over the rights to use satellite technology to eliminate mobile phone network dead spots, The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday.
Apple last year invested $1 billion in Globalstar's satellite-based technology to keep users connected in places where wireless signals aren't available even as SpaceX's Starlink has deployed a network of more than 550 satellites to provide connectivity.
Musk is reportedly pushing federal regulators to stop Apple's advances, which depend on gaining limited broadband spectrum rights.
Apple and SpaceX did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
