CFTC Rescinds Two Digital Asset-Related Staff Advisory Opinions, Eliminating Regulatory Hurdles for Digital Derivatives

Blockbeats03-29

BlockBeats News, March 29th, according to an official announcement, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Division of Clearing and Risk today announced the immediate withdrawal of CFTC Staff Letter No. 23-07 titled "Regarding Digital Asset DCO Clearing Expansion Risk Review" to eliminate its regulatory divergence on digital asset derivatives and other products.

It also immediately withdrew Staff Letter No. 18-14 titled "Staff Advisory on Listing Virtual Currency Derivatives," as the Division of Market Oversight and Division of Clearing and Risk determined that given the staff's increased experience with virtual currency derivative product listings and the growth and maturation of the market, the guidance is no longer needed.
