Bolivia-focused silver explorer New Pacific Metals' chief executive, Andrew Williams, is stepping down less than two years after taking on the role.

New Pacific said Williams will leave his roles as CEO and a director effective April 15.

Jalen Yuan, who has been company's chief financial officer for 10 years, will step in as interim CEO. Chester Xie, currently New Pacific's financial controller, has been appointed interim CFO.

Williams, who was previously the company's president, took on the CEO post in September 2023 when New Pacific founder Rui Feng stepped down as CEO. Before joining the company, Williams spent more than a decade with a precious-metals investment fund, latterly as a portfolio manager.
