French Wine Exports to U.S. Expected to Fall by 800 Million Euros -- Market Talk

Dow Jones2025-04-03

0940 GMT - French wine exports to the U.S. could drop by about 800 million euros due to the 20% tariff on EU imports announced by U.S. President Trump, according to the Federation of Exporters of Wines and Spirits of France. EU wine exports to the U.S. could fall by about 1.6 billion euros, he adds. "Such a decline will have a huge impact on employment and the economy of the sector," the federation says in a statement, warning that U.S. importers, wholesalers and retailers also face an "extremely negative impact." Pernod Ricard shares are down 0.1% at 93.46 euros, while luxury goods group LVMH--owner of Moet champagne--is down 3.6% at 554.30 euros. (cristina.gallardo@wsj.com)
