BlockBeats News, April 8th. According to The Washington Post, this past weekend, when Elon Musk took to social media to criticize a tough tariff plan pushed by one of President Trump's top White House advisers, he actually went over the official's head and directly appealed to Trump himself.
According to two sources familiar with the matter (requesting anonymity due to the nature of private conversations), Musk's intervention has not yet been successful. However, Trump has also indicated a willingness to negotiate on some policy aspects.
Meanwhile, Musk posted a video on X platform featuring the late conservative economist Milton Friedman. In the video, Friedman emphasized the benefits of international trade cooperation, describing it as the "impersonal operation of prices," and using a regular wooden pencil as an example to analyze its various raw materials' global sources.
