Lemonade (LMND) said late Wednesday a technical issue in its car insurance quote flow likely led to certain data received by an application programming interface call to a third party data provider.
The company plans to notify about 190,000 individuals that their driver's license numbers were sent in unencrypted form, it said. "Once discovered, the company took appropriate measures to resolve the vulnerability."
Lemonade said the incident is not material, but it will notify regulators, consistent with legal obligations.
