Brightstar Resources (ASX: BTR) has blasted the Bonito Portal at its Fish underground mine within the Laverton Hub.
The operation, completed on schedule and under budget, paves the way for Fish to become Brightstar’s second high-grade underground mine, with the first ore expected in the June quarter.
Site development is progressing as planned, with accommodation facilities, power stations, and communications towers under construction, while the mining fleet has been mobilised and commissioned.
The ore from Fish will contribute to Brightstar's ore purchase agreement with Genesis, allowing for up to 500,000 tonnes of ore through 2025 and the first quarter of 2026.
Brightstar’s Managing Director, Alex Rovira, emphasised that this achievement marks a step toward becoming a multi-mine gold producer, with Fish expected to deliver 15,000 tonnes of high-grade ore per month, supporting the company's production and cash flow targets for 2025.
The company is also advancing its feasibility study and exploration efforts to grow resources.
At the time of reporting, Brightstar Resources' share price was $0.019.
