Dow Jones2025-04-11

1049 ET - Companies are taking a wait-and-see approach to the evolving tariff situation and pulling back their business activity, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon says on a call with analysts. "A lot of people are not doing this because of this," he says. That's weighing on dealmaking, particularly for middle-market companies, as well as hiring, the CEO says. Many of the companies reporting 1Q results in the coming weeks will likely withdraw guidance, Dimon says, as they wait to get a better picture of the trade environment and state of consumer spending for the rest of the year.
