BUZZ-Apparel stocks slide as US to impose 104% China tariffs from Wednesday

** Shares of U.S. apparel retailers slump between 6% and 10% in late trading as China tariffs under Trump administration set to shoot up to 104%

** U.S. said on Tuesday 104% duties on imports from China will take effect shortly after midnight, in response to counter-tariffs Beijing announced last week

** Wall Street's main indexes S&P 500 .SPX and Nasdaq Composite .IXIC erases gains made earlier in the day after a bruising selloff last week

** The North Face parent VF Corp VFC.N falls as much as 11% to $10.02, its fourth straight session of losses; American Eagle Outfitters AEO.N down about 7% at $9.60

** Hollister owner Abercrombie & Fitch ANF.N down 5.5%, Gap GAP.N and Calvin Klein parent PVH Corp PVH.N fall about 5% each

** Urban Outfitters URBN.O dips 4%, while Guess GES.N slumps about 8%

** Levi Strauss LEVI.N reversed premarket gains to slip 5% in afternoon trading

** So far this year, VFC has declined 54%, AEO down 41%, ANF has lost 54%, including session's moves
