1344 ET - Airlines have started to moderate their capacity as they face dwindling demand, hurt by recessionary fears and uncertainty surrounding tariff turmoil. UBS analysts in a research note point to data from Diio, an aviation analytics company, that shows domestic capacity for all carriers slowed to 3% year-over-year growth for the week ended April 4, down from 3.1% a week earlier. Alaska Airlines, including its Hawaiian Airlines subsidiary, along with Southwest trimmed capacity, while Allegiant moderated capacity "meaningfully," the analysts note. "Given significant demand uncertainty ahead, we see potential for further trimming in June as well as 3Q schedules from here," the analysts say. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
