European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were rising late Monday morning, up 1.19% to 1,327.75 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biotech firm BioNTech (BNTX) and healthcare company Grifols (GRFS), which climbed 6.1% and 4%. They were followed by networking and telecoms company Ericsson (ERIC) and pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk (NVO), which added 3.2% and 2.5%, respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by medical device maker Edap (EDAP) and hotel and accommodation search platform Trivago (TRVG), which fell 6.3% and 3.3% respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics (SLN) and biopharmaceutical firm Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), which were rising 4.3% and 1.4% respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by Biodexa Pharmaceuticals (BDRX) and Mereo BioPharma (MREO), which lost 5.1% and 3.9% respectively.
