New York Fed President John Williams pushed back on calls for a quick rate cut on Thursday, saying the central bank's benchmark rate was in a good place.
"I don't see any need to change the setting of the Fed funds rate anytime soon," Williams said, in an interview on the Fox Business Network.
Earlier Thursday, President Trump ramped up pressure on the Fed to cut interest rates, and called for Powell "termination."
