Corus Entertainment's long-serving chair, Heather Shaw, is stepping away from her executive role running the board of the Canadian media company.
Shaw will retire as executive chair as of May 31, but will remain on the board as a non-executive chair, the company said Thursday.
Shaw has been executive chair of Corus since its inception in September 1999.
Corus's portfolio covers 30 specialty television services, 36 radio stations, 15 conventional television stations as well as digital and streaming platforms. Its brands includes Global Television, Home Network, The History Channel, National Geographic. Corus also is a content creator, producer and distributor.
Shaw will remain a director of several private companies including the Shaw Family Foundation, a philanthropic organization founded in 1970, and managing director of the Shawana Foundation, a Calgary, Alberta, philanthropic organization.
