UnitedHealth Spent $1.7 Million on Executive Security in 2024

MT Newswires Live2025-04-22

UnitedHealth Group (UNH) disclosed in a regulatory filing on Monday that it spent around $1.7 million on security for its top five executives during 2024, following the fatal shooting of CEO Brian Thompson in New York last December.

The company said it spent $207,931 to provide personal and home security services for certain family members of its executive officers.

"We believe that these security services are appropriate and necessary given the risks associated with executive officer positions at the company," the company said.
