BYD (HKG:1211, SHE:002594) and metals company Tsinghan denied backing out from their investments in Chile, the Chinese embassy in Chile said on X.
The embassy said both parties were open to dialogue with Chilean officials, the embassy said late Thursday.
Reuters earlier reported that both companies were scrapping plans to build lithium cathode plants in the Latin American country, the second-largest lithium producer worldwide.
