Robinhood (HOOD) said it agreed to acquire WonderFi Technologies, a portfolio firm belonging to Mogo (MOGO), for an all-cash purchase price of 250 million Canadian dollars ($179 million).
Mogo shares soared 68% as intraday trading volume surged to more than 125.8 million from a daily average of about 76,000.
Robinhood shares jumped 9% as intraday trading volume stood at over 43 million compared with a daily average of about 48.2 million.
Landsea Homes (LSEA) catapulted 60% after it agreed to be acquired by Apollo Global Management (APO) for $1.2 billion in cash.
More than 23 million shares of Landsea traded intraday compared with a daily average of about 338,000.
