Trio Petroleum to Suspend Operations at California Ranch
Dow Jones05-24
By Kelly Cloonan
Trio Petroleum plans to suspend operations at McCool Ranch amid rising natural gas prices and water disposal costs in California.
Those costs will prevent the company from using cyclic-steam operations to increase production at the ranch and will not be economically feasible in the long run, the company said Friday.
Trio Petroleum plans to aim its focus on more affordable sites that will result in greater profits, and will also end efforts to acquire an interest in the project, the company said.
