Trump says Apple to pay 25% tariff on iPhones sold in the US, but not made in country

May 23 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump said on Friday that Apple would pay a 25% tariff on iPhones that are sold in the United States but not made in the country.

"I have long ago informed Tim Cook of Apple that I expect their iPhone’s (sic) that will be sold in the United States of America will be manufactured and built in the United States, not India, or anyplace else," he wrote in a Truth Social post.
