Warehouse Clubs Seen Growing Market Share -- Market Talk

Dow Jones2025-06-21

1435 ET - Warehouse clubs like BJ's, Costco and Sam's Club appear likely to maintain their current momentum, UBS analysts say in a note. After considerable sign up growth in recent years, 80% or more of members at each of the three clubs say they are at least somewhat likely to renew, the analysts say, citing survey data. A majority of members also intend to spend more at the clubs in the next year and allocate a greater share of their grocery budget once inflation cools, they say. Such trends show increasingly strong member engagement, which should help the clubs grow faster than the rest of retail over the long term, they say. (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
