Japan's services producer price index (SPPI) rose 3.3% on year in May and declined 0.1% from April, reported the Bank of Japan on Wednesday.
The latest reading slowed from the 3.4% on-year rise in April.
SPPI, excluding international transportation, climbed 3.5% from the previous year.
Pushing up the SPPI in May were other services, up 4.6% year on year.
Other major groups that posted growth include real estate services, transportation and postal activities, information and communications, as well as finance and insurance.
The SPPI focuses on prices of services exchanged between businesses and the government, excluding those offered solely to consumers.
