1259 ET - Retailers are finding more ways to integrate AI into their consumer-facing businesses, Jefferies analysts led by Corey Tarlowe say. Instacart introduced an AI-powered smart cart initiative at a Wegmans in New York that is designed to automatically recognize items as they're added to a cart, eliminating the need to scan barcodes manually. L'Oreal launched an AI-powered marketplace that uses skin data points to match users with personalized beauty products. Clothing company Mango has a new AI-powered virtual assistant designed to assist shoppers and personalize their experience. Carrefour is following in Walmart's footsteps by installing "smart shelves" that can adjust prices in real-time using Bluetooth.(katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
