0806 GMT - Asean remains an attractive investment destination despite disruptions from tariffs and geopolitical tensions, says UOB deputy chairman and chief executive Wee Ee Cheong. Trade remains a critical economic driver for the region, Wee said at the 9th ASEAN Conference. "We see opportunities for the rapidly expanding digital economy and new investments in climate and sustainability." AI and ESG are now central to government and business strategies - a shift that is creating strong opportunities for public-private partnerships to build future-ready infrastructure, Wee said. Initiatives such as the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone show how collaboration can unlock new opportunities, Wee added.(amanda.lee@wsj.com)
