Polestar Automotive (PSNY) is facing a US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recall query covering 27,816 Polestar 2 vehicles due to a loss of rear-view camera image.
In June last year, the EV maker recalled certain 2021 to 2024 Polestar 2 vehicles because of issues with the rear-view camera related to reduced visualization, becoming inoperable, or incorrect functioning in reverse gear, Reuters reported, citing the safety regulator.
Polestar had proposed resolving the issue through a software update, but the NHTSA still received more than 100 complaints of camera failures after the recall remedy was completed, according to the report.
The regulator's Office of Defects Investigation discussed the complaints with Polestar, which accepted that the software update did not correctly resolve the issue, Reuters reported.
Neither Polestar nor the NHTSA immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
