ASM International Could Face Consensus Cuts -- Market Talk

Dow Jones07-23

1211 GMT - ASM International backed its guidance for fiscal 2025, but consensus is still likely to come down following second-quarter earnings, UBS analysts say in a note. The Dutch supplier of semiconductor-making equipment could face low-to-mid single-digit percentage downgrades to EBIT consensus for the year, or a high-to-mid single-digit percentage on a reported basis, they say. "We believe 2026 EBIT consensus numbers are also likely to be revised down by mid-to-high single-digit percentage driven by currency and recent ASML results," they add. Shares are expected to underperform, but this should be limited given the company expects new orders to pick up again in the third quarter, the analysts add. Shares trade 9.75% lower at 454.30 euros.
