Enphase Is Shifting Away From Selling Solar Panels to Homeowners -- Market Talk

Dow Jones07-23

1052 ET - Enphase's shift toward third-party owned solar panels will be critical to its sales after a residential tax credit expires at the end of this year, say Mizuho analysts. Compared with other solar energy companies, Enphase relies on sales to homeowners, which will likely plummet after the credit expires. But the company is now pivoting by designing new financing structures to capture more of the third-party owned market, in which the customer buys the solar energy rather than the solar panels themselves. Mizuho reiterates its outperform rating for Enphase, citing its ability to ramp up third-party owned market share. (nicholas.miller@wsj.com)
