Singapore Airlines' Declining Earnings Likely to De-Rate Stock -- Market Talk

Dow Jones07-30

0344 GMT - Singapore Airlines' overall declining earnings for the rest of the year could continue to de-rate its stock, the UOB Kay Hian team writes in a note. Passenger yields will likely keep moderating but at a slower pace, while cargo faces more uncertainties with changing U.S. tariffs, UOB KH says. Cargo maybe prove to be more resilient than expected due to a diversified network, but could still see low- to mid-single-digit yield moderation for the year. Air India remains a drag in the medium term given its loss-making position and a lack of clarity for the outlook, they add. UOB KH downgrades its rating to sell from hold and trims its target price to S$6.03 from S$6.63 after cutting its earnings estimates through FY 2028. Shares fall 2.1% to S$6.89.
