Southern Cross Gold (ASX:SX2) said stage two test work at its Sunday Creek project in Victoria identified a mineral processing technology for producing a high-grade, low-arsenic antimony-gold concentrate and "excellent" recovery of native gold, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The study analyzed 66 mineralized intersections from the Apollo prospect and 74 from the Rising Sun prospect, and prepared two bulk samples from selected drill core intersections to evaluate spatial and mineralogical composition variability, the filing said.
Future testing will explore the impact of grind size on recoveries, gold-rich/lower antimony grades in deeper mineralization, and develop geo-metallurgical models across deposit zones, per the filing.
Shares rose 4% in midday trade Wednesday.
