GalaxyCore (SHA:688728) started the mass production and shipment of the world's first 0.61-micrometer 50-megapixel image sensor product, according to a Shanghai bourse filing on Wednesday.
The product reduces camera module thickness and can be used in smartphones' rear-mounted main cameras, ultra-wide angle, and front-facing cameras, the Chinese computer information systems developer said.
The company's shares jumped less than 3% during afternoon trade.
