JCET's (SHA:600584) attributable profit fell 24% to 470.8 million yuan in the first half from 619.3 million yuan in the year-ago period, according to a Thursday filing with the Shanghai bourse.
Earnings per share at the integrated circuit manufacturer declined 26% to 0.26 yuan from 0.35 yuan in the prior-year period. Visible Alpha analysts expected EPS at 0.42 yuan.
Operating income reached 18.6 billion yuan, missing Visible Alpha analysts' forecast of 19.4 billion yuan, but still up 20% from 18.6 billion yuan in the year-ago period.
Shares fell 2% during morning trading on Thursday.
