Nanjing Iron & Steel's (SHA:600282) production of special steel products rose in the second quarter, according to a Wednesday filing with the Shanghai bourse.
Shares rose 2% during late morning trading on Thursday.
Its alloy steel bar production grew 7.4% to 435,800 tons in the second quarter from 405,800 tons in the year-ago period, while sales volume jumped 13% to 448,500 tons from 398,300 tons in the prior-year period.
Alloy steel wire production increased 6.2% to 126,400 tons from 119,000 tons a year earlier, while sales widened 15% to 128,600 tons from 111,900 tons in the prior-year period.
Alloy steel strip production jumped 14% to 243,300 tons from 213,000 tons in the prior-year period, while sales grew 18% to 249,400 tons from 211,000 tons in the year-ago period.
