NuScale Power (SMR) shares gained more than 11% in recent Wednesday trading after its partner ENTRA1 Energy signed an agreement to provide the Tennessee Valley Authority up to 6 gigawatts of NuScale's small modular reactor capacity.
Under the agreement, the program will deploy six ENTRA1 Energy plants, each powered by multiple NuScale power modules, to provide up to 6 GW of firm, 24-hour baseload power within TVA's service region, NuScale said.
The agreement could provide sufficient energy to power the equivalent of about 4.5 million homes or 60 new data centers, a joint statement from the Tennessee Valley Authority and ENTRA1 Energy said.
As NuScale's strategic partner, ENTRA1 Energy deploys and manages energy plants that use NuScale's small modular reactors, the company said.
