Capstone Copper (ASX:CSC) said that sulfide copper production at the Mantoverde mine in Chile was temporarily impacted due to a motor failure in the ball mill, and the mine is expected to continue to operate at around half capacity through bypassing the ball mill until repairs are completed, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
Repairs to the ball mill motor will take around four weeks and there are no additional spares available on site.
During this period, production is expected to be impacted by 3,000 to 4,000 tonnes of copper in concentrate at the mine, the filing said.
Capstone Copper's shares fell nearly 2% in recent trading on Monday.
