Nordex Shares the Biggest Faller as European Wind Stocks Slide -- Market Talk

Dow Jones09-11

1250 GMT - Shares in Germany's Nordex fall around 4% in midafternoon trade, leading the losses amongst European wind stocks. There have been reports in Germany that Chancellor Friedrich Merz is considering slowing the expansion of renewable energy. While the move could weigh on the shares, a cut to Germany's 2030 onshore wind target would have a limited impact on the company's earnings, Jefferies analysts write in a note to clients. Vestas Wind Systems trades down 3.2% while Siemens Energy falls 1.8%. The falls also came as Octopus Energy said it signed a partnership with Chinese turbine manufacturer Ming Yang Smart Energy to produce up to 6 gigawatts of wind energy in the U.K. (adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
