BNP Paribas's Detailed Targets Show Confidence in Performance -- Market Talk

Dow Jones09-16

0637 GMT - BNP Paribas looks relatively confident on its near-term performance and longer-term outlook, RBC Capital Markets says in a research note. This suggests that the French bank's internal drivers are largely contributing to its targeted return on tangible equity expansion, analysts Anke Reingen and associate Matthew Russell write. The group confirmed that it targets a ROTE of 12% for 2026 and is eyeing a 13% ROTE in 2028, compared with analysts' estimates of 11.2% and 12.1%, compiled by Visible Alpha. BNP Paribas expects its diversified business model to support this, with continued market share gains in its corporate and institutional banking division, organic growth and benefits from the Axa deal in its investment and protection services line.
