SRS Holdings (TYO:8163) will acquire all shares of Sushi Benkei, making it a wholly owned subsidiary, according to a Tuesday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The deal, including advisory fees, is valued at about 1.176 billion yen, with the share transfer scheduled for Sept. 29.
Sushi Benkei runs six conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Tottori and Shimane Prefectures, focusing on fresh fish and large toppings.
SRS Holdings, which operates 753 restaurants in Japan and 24 overseas under brands including Nigiri Chojiro and Umai Sushikan, said the acquisition supports its Medium-term Business Plan, SRS Vision 2030, and aims to strengthen its gourmet sushi segment.
