1009 GMT - Thunder Software is expected to benefit from the generative AI trend, driving smartphone and autonomous driving upgrades, Nomura analysts say in a note. "Although software and auto segments continue facing uncertainties due to weak macro environment, and fierce competition, we think the worst is over," the analysts say, noting the industry faced lackluster demand in 2023 and 2024. There are signs of demand recovery for IoT, with Thunder Software's investment into AIoT solutions starting to bear fruit and delivering 136% on-year growth in 1H25, the analysts said. The bank lowers its FY2025-2026 revenue forecasts by 1.6%-3.9% and earnings forecasts by 38.5%-40.5% to reflect a lower base for smartphone and auto segments and cuts its FY2025-2026 earnings by 38.5%-40.5% on lower margins from a change in the product mix. Nomura maintains a neutral rating on Thunder's stock and lifts its target price to CNY73.00 from CNY54.00. (jason.chau@wsj.com)
