Marubeni (TYO:8002) and Panasonic Holdings (TYO:6752) will roll out an electric-vehicle battery diagnostic service in Thailand as early as 2025, their first overseas venture in the field, Nikkei reported Friday.
The system, developed by their joint venture EVolity, will be integrated into fleet management services by PrimeMobility to help detect battery degradation in commercial vehicles such as trucks and pickups, according to the report.
The move targets Thailand's growing EV market, where registrations jumped 73% in July. The service could later expand to Southeast Asia, India and the U.S., the report said.
