Sector Update: Health Care Stocks Rise Pre-Bell Friday

Health care stocks were rising pre-bell Friday, with the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) 0.5% higher and the iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) up 0.4%.

Crinetics Pharmaceuticals (CRNX) stock was up nearly 12% after the company said the US Food and Drug Administration has approved Palsonify to treat adults with acromegaly, a rare hormonal disorder.

Eli Lilly (LLY) shares were up more than 1% after the company said the European Commission approved Kisunla, or donanemab, to treat early symptomatic Alzheimer's disease.

Medirom Healthcare Technologies (MRM) shares were up more than 228% after the company said a day earlier it has joined "World," an AI-based identity verification protocol.
