Nihon Kohden to End 38-Year Partnership with Abbott Medical Japan

Nihon Kohden (TYO:6849) will terminate its distribution partnership with Abbott Medical Japan (AMJ) on Dec. 31, 2026, following a mutual agreement.

The decision concludes a 38-year collaboration, including recent efforts to distribute Abbott's electrophysiology and cardiac rhythm management products in Japan.

As part of its strategic shift toward becoming a global company, Nihon Kohden will cease offering all Abbott products and transition sales and after-sales services to AMJ by the expiration date.

Moving forward, Nihon Kohden will focus on strengthening its in-house products and expanding into growth areas like ventilators and digital health solutions.
