Unfortunately, the gains of the last month did little to right the losses of the last year with the stock still down 18% over that time.    Since its price has surged higher, QuickLogic may be sending sell signals at present with a price-to-sales (or \"P/S\") ratio of 6x, when you consider almost half of the companies in the Semiconductor industry in the United States have P/S ratios under 4.8x and even P/S lower than 2x aren't out of the ordinary.   Nonetheless, we'd need to dig a little deeper to determine if there is a rational basis for the elevated P/S. QuickLogic could be doing better as its revenue has been going backwards lately while most other companies have been seeing positive revenue growth.   It might be that many expect the dour revenue performance to recover substantially, which has kept the P/S from collapsing. Only the boldest would assume these prices are sustainable as this level of revenue growth is likely to weigh heavily on the share price eventually.    The Bottom Line On QuickLogic's P/S  The large bounce in QuickLogic's shares has lifted the company's P/S handsomely.      Using the price-to-sales ratio alone to determine if you should sell your stock isn't sensible, however it can be a practical guide to the company's future prospects.  Despite analysts forecasting some poorer-than-industry revenue growth figures for QuickLogic, this doesn't appear to be impacting the P/S in the slightest.  When we see a weak revenue outlook, we suspect the share price faces a much greater risk of declining, bringing back down the P/S figures.  Unless these conditions improve markedly, it's very challenging to accept these prices as being reasonable.
