Roofing Industry Struggling With Lack of Storms, Slow Construction -- Market Talk

Dow Jones10-09

0930 ET - A lack of strong storm activity and slow new construction have hurt the roofing sector, say Truist analysts Keith Hughes and Mia Senyitko, who lower estimates for Owens Corning and QXO. There has been below average hail activity year-to-date and no major hurricanes, while new construction activity has weakened. "The result is a market that has seen in our view modest single digit declines at all levels of the value chain," the analysts say. They expect inventory reductions and weak pricing in 4Q25/1Q26.
