Wolfspeed is discontinuing development on a device-fabrication facility in Saarland, Germany and will complete its planned closure of its facility in Durham, N.C., by the end of the year.
The semiconductor company said Wednesday the changes are intended to "align with demand and enhance capital efficiency."
Wolfspeed had announced the closure of its Durham plant and indefinitely suspended development plans on the German facility last year.
The Durham company also said Wednesday it was appointing Matthias Buchner, an executive at Infineon Technologies, as its new chief marketing officer, effective Dec. 1.
