Market Chatter: British American Tobacco Unit Postpones Vape Product Launch

MT Newswires Live10-28

British American Tobacco's (BTI) Reynolds American unit postponed the launch of its Vuse One vape product in certain states, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing a Reynolds American spokesperson.

Reuters said the move comes amid the US Food and Drug Administration's crackdown on unregulated products, noting that the unit had planned the launch even without FDA approval.

The spokesperson told Reuters that Reynolds American will instead focus on its existing products. The news outlet added that these products include a nicotine pouch that is already available for sale, without FDA approval.

Vuse One has a pending FDA application, according to Reuters. The spokesperson said the launch will be moved to an "appropriate time."

British American Tobacco and Reynolds American did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
