0846 GMT - Glencore delivered a solid quarter and mostly narrowed guidance within existing ranges, RBC Capital Markets analysts Ben Davis and Marina Calero write. There was a lot of bearishness ahead of the results, they add. This is because over the final 6 months of the year, copper production needs to increase 50% compared with the prior 6 months if it is to hit guidance, they write. Third-quarter copper production rose 36% on-quarter due to higher grades. Despite this being a good release, there is plenty of work to do in the final 3 months of the year, the analysts write. Shares trade up 6.2% at 373.2 pence.(adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
