Public Service Enterprise Group reported higher third-quarter revenue and profit as data centers continue to drive up energy prices in New Jersey.
The New Jersey-based utility holding company reported net income of $622 million, or $1.24 a share, compared with $520 million, or $1.04 a share, the year prior.
Adjusted operating earnings were $1.13 a share. Analysts expected $1.02, according to FactSet.
Operating revenues rose to $3.23 billion, up from $2.64 billion the year before. Wall Street expected $2.72 billion.
The company narrowed its full-year adjusted operating earnings guidance to $4 to $4.06 a share, compared with its prior forecast of $3.94 to $4.06 a share. Wall Street sees $4.02 a share.
New Jersey has become a hub for AI data centers, which consume massive amounts of energy. That has contributed to surging energy prices in the state.
Chief Executive Ralph LaRossa said a growing imbalance between energy supply and demand caused summer electric bills to rise nearly 20%.
