Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) said Wednesday that total open interest rose 16% in October from a year earlier, including record futures open interest of 59 million lots on Oct. 30.
The exchange said that energy average daily volume and open interest both increased by 9% in October from a year ago, with oil ADV up 7% and total natural gas ADV up 12%.
Financials open interest climbed 33%, while interest rates open interest rose 40% from a year earlier, Intercontinental said.
Shares of the company were up 1.3% in recent Wednesday trading.
