The U.K. government has launched a security review of hundreds of Chinese-manufactured buses in its public transport fleet, The Guardian reported.
The Department for Transport and the National Cyber Security Centre are assessing whether the vehicles could be vulnerable to remote interference by the manufacturer, Yutong Bus (SHA:600066), according to the report.
This probe follows an investigation by Norwegian authorities, who found that Yutong buses could theoretically be "stopped or rendered inoperable" remotely through their over-the-air software update system, The Guardian wrote. Denmark has also opened a similar inquiry.
