A roundup of key agricultural commodity markets for the week of Nov. 10-14 by Dow Jones Newswires in Barcelona.

GRAINS & OILSEEDS: The macro mood is mixed. The Brazilian real is strengthening against the U.S. dollar, making U.S. agricultural products more competitive globally, analysts said. However, investors are still digesting Fed Chairman Jerome Powell's hawkish remarks following the Fed's October decision. Meanwhile, U.S. consumer sentiment has fallen to a three-year low, compounded by the government shutdown.

Looking forward, it is another quiet week for data, with the U.S. government still shut down. Traders await Friday's November USDA WASDE report, with focus on U.S. yields, Brazil's crop potential, and China's demand for U.S. corn and soybeans. CFTC Commitment of Traders data will be delayed until the government reopens.

Meanwhile, weather in the U.S. is generally warm, with showers expected across the Eastern Corn Belt this week. However, weather conditions are becoming less relevant as harvest is over 90% complete for both corn and soybeans, according to Peak Trading Research. In Brazil, the weather has been mixed. Soybean planting is slightly behind schedule, but conditions are still manageable heading into the latter part of the planting window, analysts at the firm said.

On Monday, Chicago wheat futures rose 1.2% to $5.34 a bushel, while corn was up 0.6% to $4.30 a bushel. Soybean prices gained 0.9% to $11.27 a bushel.

SOFT COMMODITIES: Coffee prices are broadly flat at $4.108 a pound on Monday, but they are up nearly 10% on the month. Earlier this year, the Trump administration imposed 50% tariffs on Brazilian goods, raising coffee bean prices.

Meanwhile, cocoa prices fell 0.3% to $6,123 a ton and are 47% lower year to date on prospects of higher supply amid improved weather conditions in key cocoa-growing regions. Sugar is up 1.8% to 14 cents a pound.
