Woolworths Group (ASX:WOW) has opened its Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) in Western Sydney, marking the completion of its AU$1.3 billion Moorebank Logistics Precinct alongside the recently launched National Distribution Center, according to a Thursday statement.
The facilities will handle more than 5 million cartons of 20,000 products each week, enhancing product availability and enabling faster restocking with "aisle-ready" pallets, the company said.
The project created 1,300 construction jobs, will employ 800 operational staff, and both centers were officially opened on Thursday, the company added.
The company's shares fell around 2% in recent Thursday trade.
