VTech (HKG:0303) posted profit attributable to shareholders of $74.7 million in the six months ended Sept. 30, down nearly 15% from $87.4 million a year earlier, according to a Thursday Hong Kong bourse filing.
Shares of the firm were down over 12% in Friday afternoon trade.
Earnings per share in the fiscal first half came in at $0.295, compared with $0.346 a year ago.
Revenue fell 9% year-on-year to $991.1 million from $1.09 billion.
The board declared an interim dividend of $0.17 per share, unchanged from a year earlier, payable on Dec. 19 to shareholders on record as of Dec. 10.
